Dr. Martins is an Emergency Physician working in the largest hospital complex in Latin America (Hospital das Clinicas, College of Medicine, University of São Paulo). He is the Chief of Clinical Research at the Department of Emergency Medicine of University of São Paulo. He trained in internal medicine (3 years, 1997-1999), followed by a year in emergency medicine (1999-2000). In 2011, Dr. Martin completed his Doctorate (PhD) in the Department of Emergency Medicine, College of Medicine, University of São Paulo. Currently, he holds a post-doctorate position at the university. Dr. Martins is one of the cofounders of the Brazilian Association of Emergency Medicine (ABRAMEDE), currently occupying the position of Vice President. His areas of interest include international exchange, development of emergency medicine as a specialty in Brazil and clinical research in the emergency department.
